I have a set from hids4u, used them on my old focus, and were bloody brilliant. Put them over into my new shape mondeo, and after beefing up the fuses, they flicker about 10 times when switching them on. I did email some bloke from hids4u, but i found him pretty unhelpful!

I'm sure a direct feed from the battery should sort them out tho
