Default Timing help needed asap please.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I tried the search and found nothing to help.

My 2wd Sapph is running Kent BD10s and vernier pulleys, I am changing the timing belt tomorrow (friday) and I want to know if theres a certain way to set them? I dont trust the way they are set at current because inlet is at 0 degrees and exhaust is right round to the end of the adjustment. I cant see any visable timing marks on the pulleys like the arrows on the standard ones so how can I tell if they are set ok?

Also I have heard that if you advance one cam 10 degrees and retard the other 10 degrees this is the best way to run BD10s? Is this true, if so which one for which?

Do the verniers really make that much of a difference with BD10s as they are only a mild cam?
Was thinking of just putting standard pulleys back on it.

Any advice/experiences/info would big a big help

Thanks in advance, Ian
