The problem I had with my headlights was down to an earth fault. I had no dipped beam, no main beam (but I could flash it) and no washers and all of that was due to an earth from the switch being missing somewhere. We added a new earth to one of the pins and everything came back.

I had sidelights, dash lights etc though.
