Now back together and running lovely! had to butcher the loom from a Daewoo at the scrap yard for a small connector because one of the bullet type pin connectors broke when I plugged it back in!

BTW you can fit a dash over the steering column without removing it, so long as you remove the steering boss. (The manual says to remove the column)
