if its continued scanning its because its not detected a networkplain and simple... if your network is within range I would ensure that you are using the same encryption algorithm on the wireless device as on the router.

Mind you the BT networking stuff are POS

Im also assuming that you have configured the net connection for this PC so that its looking to use the wireless connection
