What's the catch with hi spec? So far i haven't heard any bad news about those?

So you trashed ur 2500s? maybe a try for 3000s? They need come a bit on temperature, but after a few laps they provide a really nice constant bite troughout. (they're not roadlegal)
As for the standard 4pot calipers, they're pretty good really.
But they weigh alot compared the alloy aftermarket items.
And if you're going for the biggest discs possible, the lug mounts won't do much favour.
Biggest discs is often not really nessecary,(besides the looks ofcourse ) having proper ducting to the discs/and or calipers, makes a really big difference in the stopping power throughout a trackday session (and longlivity of the discs/pads/fluid)
