I had a 16v mk.2
It was on an F reg, 130,000miles small bumper model.

It was very fast, get it above 4000 revs and it would fly!

BUT.... What a pile of shit!!

It broke down every week, the clutch lasted a fortnight, the wiper switch broke off, the brand new rear tyres were bald on the inside edge fter 2000 miles, the list goes on!

So I got shot of it asap - and the guy who bought it blew it up big style a week later.

Keep looking for a 205!! (or better yet a 309gti - pig ugly but awesome to drive!)
