before altering to much make sure all the standard settings are correct, metering unit base flap, throttle body clean,air screw is clean,plug gaps ok and then set mixture all basic stuff and any mot station will probably set the c/o for a small fee, which could also be the popping that you get when you throttle off (maybe to lean).
