Hi Spiky - Good choice IMHO! I have 2!

One is an 1.6 Gti based Mi16v - paid £2k which was way too much for it, although I've had my money's worth out of it!

The other is a 1.9 Gti that I'm converting to Mi16v, it cost me £250 as an MOT failure, the engine owes me another £150. Depending on the MOT work needed I reckon running on the road will see it costing no more than £750.

On ebay and autotrader I've seen LOADS of 1.9GTis varying from £300 to £1400 - as always buy the best you can afford!



My brother managed 40 MPG in his Mi16 205 going to the Ring at Easter, I did 37mpg on the way to Bedford RSOC day - so they are ACE on fuel.

Handle brilliantly, and parts are peanuts as there a lot of them in breakers and on EBay.

You'll love it!
