I think I'm right in saying that Hillman was taken over by Talbot, who in turn were owned by Peugeot. Somewhere along the way I think the French sold the whole Rootes conglomorate to Chrysler.

Datsun was the name for Nissan here until a long time ago when they adopted the Nissan name to come into line with Japan.
