Best car I've ever had from a price/performance point of view.

I've owned my stg1 4x4 10 years now and it's never missed a beat. 126K on the clock, engine/turbo could do with a rebuild, but I still use it daily and apart from high-ish oil consumption it's sweet as a nut.

I paid £11K for it then, compared to two other high performance cars I've had (BMW 850Csi and TVR Chimaera 500) which both lost £12K on depreciation in two years (that's each ), the sierra's been a bargain

So much so that we bought a 2wd a couple of years ago to add to the family.

Bearing in mind these cars are knocking on upwards of 20 years on the road, what do you expect Any car of that age is likely to suffer reliability problems at some stage, it's unrealistic to think you can buy a cossie these days and expect it to run like a 1 year old mondeo TDCi

They are old girls, and need lots of TLC
