seriously, as SafeChav just said, there could be damage if you connected browm wires to the live (+ve) terminal.

I had a problem starting mine a few days ago, seemed to be all down to the battery not having enough charge, charged it fully over night and first thing in the morning, started as normal.

Amazing what an overnight charge can do!
