Why dont you just ring the supplier of the chip and actuator and get the instructions that you are obviously missing. I can see you losing the engine at the rate your currently progressing with guesswork.

I fitted both parts this afternoon. I thought it'd be more straight forward I will admit
I'll make some calls tomorrow and if I don't get anywhere I'll return the car to standard tomorrow evening.
