go back years and years and years ago (92) andi had a 3 door, stage one and never had any problems with it at all, not with the brakes, not with the suspension not with the engine or gearbox, onlly thing that broke on it was the clutch pedal bracket (i think too many side steps did that ) and it remained reliable all teh way until the engine caught fire and it burnt to a crisp

most people reckoned it was down to either an injector getting stuck open of the loom burning out (which may have been realted to teh smoke coming out of the dash

all this way years and years ago before the intenet and before i knew anything baout car clubs and stuff

bought it with 104k on the clock and it melted with 160k on the clock with no troubles inbetween (even a missed gearchange while going fromt 4th to 5th (while trying to beat a transit of all things ) didn't upset it

4x4 saph, again, stage one (whatever that meant a few years later) had nothing go wrong with it
this one went from 54k to about 64k before it too died a death, this time in my hands rather than sitting onthe driveway warming up
