Have a look, hopefully its Baxi, if it is most parts can be changed and is normally fixable without fitting a new boiler. Even if it isn't it may be fixable, just Baxis have lots of spares available and are easy to sort. A decent plumber will fix it rather than replace it, of course there are plenty that will do you over for a new boiler you don't need and then be kind enough to take yours away and make money on the parts too [/quote]

I only ever fit Baxi gas boilers and they are great Yes ALL parts are available to fix them but sometimes it dosn't make economical sense as the PCB's are sometimes over £150 and you are still at the end of the day left with an older uneconomical boiler that could well brake down again within a few months, with a new condensing gas boiler it is more efficent and always comes with at least 12 month sometimes longer warranty.[/quote]

true, my new house is getting a combi to replace a rubbish gas fire and back burner, my baxi 2 is now a baxi 3, its had near everything replaced.
