Tests 1-leg dis fella. Now i dont know whether thats where u took the socket off and knocked a wire OR the probable cause its disconnected in the network somewhere!!! Give them a call again And tell them u want an engineer out. Though check the socket first and dial tone before u do.

If you get an engineer around and it is a problem in the house they'll charge u prolly 80-100quid so be nice and buy um a beer... i'm sure they wont charge lol.
