Why would 5 out of 6 piston rings fail?

Headgasket surely.

Why/how that would happen without either detting its tits off or whatever is beyond me though.

Bearing in mind RB25s are mega reliable and standard ones can knock out 500bhp+ with good reliability when set up right, something is very wrong there.
