I was looking 4 months ago for my 3rd Cossie.....

Upto £3000...

WILL require work and imo lots of it

£3000- £4000

Bargains out there and more so the closest to the £4000 mark

£4000-£5000

Cars getting much better and expect some good choice mods/new parts or an engine rebuild the closer to £5000 you get

£5000 plus...

Cars with either lots of good tasteful mods and alot of new parts or a recent engine rebuild...

Like the rest have said RUST/ROT is the biggest problem and I'm sure most will agree you are better off buying a Cossie that needs maybe some mechanical work than a car with rust/rot issues and the latter can be very very expensive as you never know whats hiding beneath.... Buy more on condition than mileage....

I looked at 2 cars around the £4000 mark and both of them were actually complete sheds that had the owners been honest I'd have not bothered viewing!!!! Then I bought mine which imo compared to the other 2 was worth twice the £££
