Nope!
Do it proper, and it wont cause a prob. It's a very hot hatch - they are not meant to be cheap.
Renew all the hoses with sicone items - every one - get them from roose.
Change all the Gaitors for new items. Re bush all the suspension. Re bush the steering column and fit a new rack. Fit new tca's and track rod ends (Partco about 30 quid for everything - same as ford stuff).
Renew all the brake lines with copper items. Fit new rear wheel cylinders. Buy new leads, plugs, dizzy cap from ford. Buy new header tank cap, and new oil cap. Check condtion of major wiring and replace as needed. Inject wax into sills, chassis legs, front box sections etc. Take kit off and wax arches to prevent from rotting. Fit a new fuel pump and filter.
Less than 500 quids worth there, and could be done in 3 or 4 weekends. Then you shouldnt havea problem
