I've got coilovers on mine and I've not had any trouble, other than getting the springs at the right height so the tyres don't wear abnormally.
I've also had to fit a rear strut brace as both sides of the parcel shelf snapped and I had to weld them up, not sure if this was caused by the shocks though.
Same happened to mine
Fitted a rear strut brace now
I spent ages trying to find out what had happend as I have to travel down a bumpy dirt track in it made a lot of squeecking and drove me mad, now I've welded it back up and fitted the strut the noise has gone
Tis a bit strange especially as thats supposed to be a strutual part of the car
