Rhys - I agree, but also dissagree in aspects. The symbol is now widely associated with death, hate and antisemitism, but this is because of how the actions of the Nazi's are precieved. The Nazi's didn't percieve them that way, and thats not why they chose the swastika as their emblem. You have to remember that in war there are two sides (basically) good and bad. But each "side" belives themselves to be the good, and the enemy to be the bad. To the Germans, the Union Jack and/or the St George's Flag could also have been seen as the symbol of oppression and hate and death - as essentially we were oppressing their nation, killing them and we hated them....
It's all about the point of view!
So really, the symbol DOES mean life and goodluck, and always will. But it has had a shadow cast over it because of the actions by the last known party to use it.
