well i was looking for a car for ages and i was thinking of getting a golf gti till i was looking in the autotrader and found this 3i it was close by so went to take a look , the price hes was asking was £495 it had full ford service history and one owner from new the inside was mint there was some light ( well it looked light at the time) rust on the rear arches but the rest was near mint no rust in the battery tray so i thawt ill buy it .
well after a phone call to me mate about sorting the body work i haggled the price a bit..... well i got him down to £250 and he nicely gave me back a tenner for petrol i may add it was a range rover garage and i think he needed the space , i was shocked to see the car had 11 months mot left just needed taxing !
this is when i first bought the car

so when i got car home i rang my mate to come have a look as hes sorting the rust i have a tight budget to sort the car hence the giro!
well he looked he laughed and started pulling bit of me f*cking arch off ,he allso found a small ( snigger) hole in the inner arch , but it was for the best , well after a trip to halffrauds and 50 quid later ( p38 / p40 /mesh ,wet and dry and some paint ) this is the start of the winter bodge till the start of summer . first job was to rip all the crappy red go faster stripes and the classy injection stickers the old owner had fitted and the ,also the rubber door moldings , about 20 hot kettles of water later and half can of petrol and whit help of ice scrapper the moldings and glue was gone ,so now it was time to tackle the rusty arches :
drivers side >

(the above pic the p-38-king had to build a arch lip for most of the arch as there wud be no place to screw the kit , so plenty of mesh and fiberglass was used to build me a new inner arch lip)
passenger >

after a day of p38 highness and fibreglass cocktails and sanding and the odd bit of mesh and bit primer here is how it looked

( this is the arch lip he made out of fibreglass and mesh so i cud screw the kit to it )
the p-38-king at work

my mate p-38-king done all the filling and shaping and i was going to spray it in with a rattle can (spray can) and so i did like so

(that was first coat of paint just been flattened down for next coat )
the car was looking like a 4x4 and i cudnt live with that so a shopping spree on ebay and a bit of traveling and 250 pound later i got one set of grooved and drilled fron disks , complete 90 spec rs turbo kit and rs turbo rims , full 60mm lowering kit .

(one for the ladies) thats me by the way lol
so we started fitting the springs and dampers and the disks

there is filler along the sill as i found a plate had been welded on the sill and been filled over badly so me mate was sorting it nice and smooth for the skirts to fit nicely over (arch still needs sanding and sparying i know l

)
well i was happy to see the lowering kit fitted nice as the back on its arse , here what it was like before

and after

well thats it so far still got to pick up my stainless steal piper zorst system tomz and fit front lowering springs and shocks and also start fitting the kit ill upload more as we get it done
id like to add i know the work im doing isnt a full rebuild and new pannels but its near xmas and i got other things to spend my giros on ..like beer and ..erm kebabs and some more beer , the car came with full mot so ill get it sorted in new year the p-38-king is going to weld new outer inner wheel arches and maybe a new sill if it needs it im not sure if im going to strip it out and roll cage it or not ill have to see , i pulled the carpet back and to my suprise it was totally mint!!!
well as we do more i`ll upload me bodges (fixes of the highest pikey way)
thanks for looking
