Default Wireless router connecting to USB modem?

Wonder if anyone can help my brother out here.

He just emailed me this:

Rich,

Got a netgear 108 mbps wireless storage router WGT634U.

I bought this router as it has a designated USB port to allow me to link my external harddrive to my router and access my hard drive off of the network, even over the internet from outside of the house (I was told).

I also have a Netgear Wireless digital music player Mp101 which will hopefully plug into my TV or stereo and will access wirelessly my external hardrive and be able to listen to any tunes from there via this player.

The router doesn't have a built in modem and the toucan modem is a USB modem. The router needs an RJ45 modem so at the minute I can't use the wireless system and just plug the USB modem straight into my laptop.

Ideally I want to sort it out so I can hook it all up wirelessly without having to sell any of the gear I've got and buy a new router with built in modem for example. The reason I wanted that router is that I wanted to have the networked external harddrive to access all my tunes over a network and supposedly via the internet somehow.

Now as I understand it, his problem is how to connect his USB modem to the wireless network - some sort of RJ45 to USB convertor? Is this even possible, or will he have to sell his router and get one with a built in modem?
