thats it sorted now it was drawing air at the back of the manifold,some fanny had only tightened up one nut ,and yes before anyone asks yes that fanny was me in my defence it is kind of dark in my garage
sounds sweet as a nut now,have known this engine since it was about 3 years old,an aquaintance of mine took it out of a 3 year old fiesta that was smashed, and fitted it into an xr3i about 10 years ago only had about 30 k on it at the time and has only done maybe another 2-3 k since it was fitted in the escort,got driven to ford fair and back,it has always been on standard boost and never hashed,so should be a goodun i think,still got the original sump on and it has like 1 small blemish on it and the block wasnt even rusty under the original paint
