On topspeed runs use gas in 4th & 5th only. For some of the accleration times it was used in 3rd. We have traction in 2nd but its a bit hairy & not worth it. The tyres were 235/45/17 Dunlop DO1J's as I use on the road.
Drove there on them & back home although they had to be replaced soon after .
