you need..

xbox 360
broadband modem

unplug the modem from mains then put the ethernet cable from the modem to the 360 (360 off too) then plug modem back in to power then turn 360 on and follow the on screen gumph

If you wanna go through a router etc just look on your providers home page as a guide is normally on there mate
