Is it a SECS-designed board from MSD ? If so, then if it's a recent one, then the board will have been slightly modified to improve the rev counter output. If it is an early board, then a small mod is required to the board in the ECU (a wire needs to be cut and soldered to a transistor leg). You can either do this yourself, or send the ECU to MSD for modification.

Whichever SECS/MSD board it is, there is a mod required to the back of the rev counter.

There was a post in General Discussion about this by Stu@MSD about 2 months ago.

If the coilpack conversion is being done by fitting a suitably modifed P8 ECU or a different management system, then all of the above info doesn't apply.

With regards the original coil wiring, yes just tape the wires up.
