Hey guys
I have tried all the above.....for two nights and its really starting to do my fcukin head in.
We have done the following tonight now....
We have established that there is fuel getting to the Metering head. But when you hold the flap down and crank the engine, there is just no fuel whatsoever coming out of the 4 bolt holes. Nothing. You just see it sitting there. It just will NOT pressure up the pipes to the injectors at all. The cold start is the only one getting fuel, but thats to be expected as its on the same line as the return feed....this i assume is enough to keep the engine running for its couple of seconds, before it cuts out again.
So tonight.......we have now tapped the top of the metering head to see if the plunger was possibly stuck.....there is pressure when u push the air flap down, but not sure how much there SHOULD be....but theres a bit.
We also took off the multiplug to the Electro Magnetic Activated Actuator on the side of the Metering head.....there is power getting to that. We took off the Actuator itself from the side of the metering head, applied voltage across the terminals, and that is clicking too.....opening the small hole in it, and allowing fluid to flow. So thats working too....put that back on. So we know there is fuel pressure to the metering head, the air flap is operating, and the actuator on the side of the metering head is working ok. (I assume thats what its supposed to do when it gets a +V ?)
The only other thing i can think of now, is if the fuel needle is stuck in the "up" position and gunked up or the O-Rings are gunked ?
I say this because, i assume when u push the flap down, the lever on it pushed the needle up, and the fuel is distributed through the slats in the needle....the further up the needle travels, and further down the flap, then the more fuel flows to the injectors ? Yes ?
So if the lever is moving upward, but the needle is gunked up and possibly stuck in the upward position, or clogged, then no fuel pressure will be getting through am i right ?
Is this a common prob ? I really cant think of anything else left to try !!Its getting fuel to the metering head, theres power to the magnetic actuator, the flap is working......but no fuel when u open the bolts and crank it over....no fuel coming out that is....but fuel IS there.
Therfore what do i need to do to strip and clean the Metering head ? And can i get new O-Rings or a rebuild kit for it ? Is it ok to do ?
Any help appreciated again...
Cheers
Michael
