We've used Chav round here in the scummy council estates of Cheltenham since as long as I can remember, and its nowhere NEAR as complex as the wanky rumours make out.

When we was younger it was jus a greeting, like mate. Ie "Alright chav?" etc etc.

I remember 20odd yrs ago and it was used, mustve been around for 100s of years.
