If it's the resistor it will only work on speed 3. If it's the switch, it won't work at all.
M8 i got an N plate transit and theses things can go for a pastime

I'm sure there no more than £15 they reduce the voltage i think so you get the 3 speeds on the blower
thats why normally when they go the fastest speed is fine as im sure thats the full 12 v
