dude... seriously, get someone who knows what they're doin to help you out.
I cant say this enough... DO NOT TRY TO FLY IT ALONE IF YOU NEVER FLOWN BEFORE.
around 2k rpm just to lift the model off the floor, and the speed they pick up...
from firing the model up havin your arm chopped off could be less than 60seconds !
no pets, children, cars, houses or anything.... proper wankers when its windy too !
http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html <--- get this... play for a week or so with a PS2 style game pad... kinda like the heli control with the 2 sticks... even then your only 5% to becommin a model flyer !
it really is as hard as they say !
RE: the running out of fuel at 60ft up... it's called an "Auto-rotation" if i remember right... you do it when practicin, one of the toggle switches on the remote will shut the throttle to idle position but still leave you with the lift/decent control.....
kill the engine at what ever height... I started at 6ft up

then you lower the stick, as if to bring the model down... the downward motion will keep the head spinning and keep up the head's rpm, then about a foot from the floor bring in the upward pitch again to hover and use the remaining head rpm to lower the model in... if you follow me !!?
