MarkN your mad thats mega work, especially seeing as you have to discard the relay from under the glove compartment and re-wire it all!

If you look into it its actually easier to fit a proper MK3 solenoid onto the lock in the drivers door.

And just for the record, the reason they go stiff is lack of maintenaince, my 85 Orion has never had the door cards off and every lock works perfectly. Solenoids are a lot stronger than the motor driven items today.

You were lucky with your cabby, mine is one of the very first 84 models, no holes for anything! But i still fitted a full set of electric windows, mirrors and central locking!
