Yes you could do that as the gasket would never become uncompressed.
However personally i always clean the holes in the block out that the studs go into, and you cant do that with the head on.
Its often advised NOT to use the ARP studs on a YB though as apparently the blocks can crack as a result, ive no experience of that myself though, my ARP studded YB has been fine.
