The kit I'm using uses a boost switch that activates the water injection onces a predetermined boost point has been reached. The water injection is only in operation when the car is running above this point.

The more complex kits are mapable and can also have ACT parameters added in so say they will only operate onec a predetermined boost point has been reached and when ACT's are above 40deg
