airflow on a standard head is excellent at 120.5 cfm at .375 valve lift so extensive head work ain`t really required, maybe a little tart up with a polish and removal of the slight edge in the throat may give ya a few cfm more.
Cams a bit of a norze with this engine. Standard cams give you more lift than 25% of the valve diametre so no benefit is really gonna be made there as regards increasing valve lift.
The kent cam on offer and the piper road cam only give approx 20 degrees more duration give or take a few degrees.
I am going for the piper ultimate road cam on my rebuild, based purely on the fact the inlet duration duration is a good increase. Hopefully this ain`t going to have no or little effect on the idle speed.
