might want to try home build on a 1.8 first to see if you like it. you may prefere the specced cvh (its possible)

You can have the pistons machined to drop the comp ratio, use a hybrid t34 or saphy T3 hybrid with OFAB (3 bar map) management out the fiest turbo as its boost aware.

If you have cash to splash then go for the 2.0, the ZT rods are pretty good but you might want steels if going mentall, ten you might want agter market low comp pistons. calibra turno pistons will do the job just as good and give a decent CR also, i think i slight overbore is needed but someone can will be able to tell you exactly what.
