I only ask as I was reading Autoexpress on the shitter today and they have a feature on different cars (dedicated top speeders and modified road cars) doing top speed times at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah.

Just interested
Blimey lads I will need to make this Forum a full time job .

The fact is we dont know how fast my car will go given enough distance over 220 thats for sure but its not viable in the UK. We reached 210mph in 1.41 miles still acclerating. All my data tells me what Power is required for My Speed over 1.5miles.
The longer you gear the more distance you require to get to Max Speed.
We reached our 210, on the Limiter, about 300metres short of the timing beam & coasted over at the present record of 206.1 thats called an error on my part for gearing too short. With our new Spec we are geared to do 219 @ 8.3k which is the limiter, however the Nitrous is switch off at 8.2k so 217 is the Max on present gearing. However we aint got enough Power to pull that in 1.5miles (unless im wrong again) as that requires over 900bhp Peak Power, which is difficult to have after 30 secs or so at Full Throttle.

ps If I had a 6th gear @ 193mph , I could gear so much nearer optimum & then 217mph may be possible in 1.5miles. Remember Im on falling Power after 7.5k & if I Lengthen the gearing for this I cant reach the Max Speed in 1.5 miles, Its a bugger but I love the maths of it. Maybe I could have Martins gearbow for the day.
