You cannot tell physically if it has been chipped.

The ecu has flash memory that can be reprogrammed without opening
up the ecu.

More likely you have a sensor fault. Probally the AFM.

Get a proper diagnostic and dont just change parts till its fixed unless
you have deep pockets.
