I think there are still a few good ones about, but the chances of most of those owners parting with them are slim to non as they are fully appreciated for what they are, which is why you only ever see the shit boxes for sale.
I was lucky with the one I had, it was only the 2nd one I looked at but it wasn't advertised for sale, a friend knew the bloke treated it like a child but had been toying with the idea of letting it go (wife pressures lol).
2 owners, standard engine, in fact standard car as it came from the factory, garaged all its life, only mark on it was a small scuff on the rear bumper - after hard bartering it cost 5800.
