mine came with spacers. the plates aren't as thin as they look in that pic, they are probably almost the same thickness as yours in real life, (i've tested and they are strong as fcuk) just use as many washers as you need to get the caliper to sit central over the disk, my spacers are about 4mm thick. so a couple of thick washers should do it.

my handbrake cable, I'll get a pic tmro, not a tight fit at all mate, i did it underneath, duno if there are different fitments on the calipers or if the different angles we've fitted them at make a huge difference but mine has a nice loop same as the original one did.
