Quick question(s)...

You wander to Halfords to buy a new air filter, using the Halford or other brands. Or oil filter. Or oil. Or brake pads. Or anything that are related to serviceable parts.

Or taking your Ford car to a non Ford garage for a service and they put different brand of parts in your car.

Are you required to inform your insurance co? If so, it would mean many cars out there are illegal because it was changed from the orginial specs.

I know that you do need to inform the insurance co if you changed from 15" standard wheels to 17" alloy wheels or swapping the engine with a different one. But serviceable parts? That works the same thing?

I'm not here to cause arguments, I'm trying to work out which's which.
