A car feeling old isn't even the slightest issue, i drove a classic mini for several months... no sound proofing, just two bucket seats and a steering wheel :P
I've been in a sierra cosworth, and it was awesome!
As much as i agree with the insurance being insane, its when i look at what it costs to insure much lesser cars, that it seems worth the extra pennies!
