Exactly what would happen, and already does happen...
I had some "network administrator" call me, in my old job, to demand I fix our mail-system because he wasn't receiving emails...
Got his domain-name, checked, no MX (Mail eXchange - they're what tell your mailserver where to route your email to, to get it to the recipient) records. So, here's me, thinking "great, quick call, tell him to have MX records configured with his ISP, and problem solved".
But nope, he then goes into a mard, stating how he doesn't need to be told how things worked by some "jumped up little phone-monkey who's probably on a quarter of the wages I am" (and, yes, that was a quote), and he then proceeded to tell me quite arrogantly (and very wrongly) how he believed email worked.
After quite a bit of explanation from myself, to the contrary, he was unsure enough to say he'd go look a few things up and call me back......fair play to the guy, he called back and apologised, and said he'd go have the MX records for his domain configured (as I'd already stated would fix the problem an hour ago)!
I was so tempted to ask for his manager's name, so I could apply for his job, but wasn't sure that would have gone down too well!
