In fairness it says in the handbook, and I quote:

If the battery has been disconnected these vehicles may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics for approximately 5 miles (8km) after battery reconnection.
This is due to the automatic relearning of the engine management system to the actual engine and may be disregarded.'
