i have water injection as a safety measure only, i.e my car was mapped without WI so its safe without. but if a blocked injector or other fault occured, may put 1 or more cylinders at risk/lean, then the water should reduce any detonation to below damage stage and hopefully i will notice a performance problem and investigate before a rebuild is needed.
