Isothermic bollocks that I dont understand, was detailed stuff on the Aquamist forum that im not sure exists anymore.
The less technical explanation goes along the lines of:
Dip your finger in aftershave/alcohol based spirits - then blow on it. Feels very cold for a short period of time.
Dip your finger in water - then blow on it - doesn't feel as cold, but it feels cooler for a lot longer.
By mixing methanol and water - you get the benefits of it being colder than water - and it stays cooler for longer.
Simple enough?
