Effectively yes, although its not the actual "mapping" thats the problem its basically the config.


Imagine you have a value 0-255 representing how long to open an injector for

then you have a scaling table saying how long in millisecords that actually is

then you have a value saying "also add X number of ms"


To get a decent idle on a big injector you dont just need to change the normal fuel map, you need to start altering one or more of the other bits of data too in order to get the damn things to open for a small enough amount of time to not go stupidly rich on idle

all this stuff is easy to do on aftermarket normally, but OEM stuff its FAR harder as bare in mind there is NO friendly interface to all this data, its basically just 0s and 1s
