Its the kind of thing that annoys me, you're allowed to stop on most double yellows if you're just setting down and picking up but not parking, so you should accept the concenquences...
So if the truck had hit the car on yellows with a person in it having just dropped someone off it would be the trucks fault (because it is OK to stop on yellows )

But because that person is out of the car helping his disabled mother to the shop, suddenly it becomes the parked car owners fault??

If you drive into a parked car, how can you possibly expect to get away with it not being your fault??????? Are you suggesting it's OK to not be in full control of your vehicle and drive into stuff??
