Calm down dear!

And if you source the 1.7 volvo engine with loom it drops straight in as its the same basic construction as the 1.7 GTX lump, with the added benefits of being OHC crossflowetc etc not a primitive pushrod engine......
Calm down? Disagreeing dont make someone not calm dude

Its not hard if done right, my last one was running 23psi held and was rich still at the top end, yet still passed emissions easily, as did mates that was holding 25psi, and jocks that used to run 33psi on a carb, and he ran soo many satandard parts it was wierd how that thing held together for even 2secs

Carbs are basic is one sense, but if you know what you doing you will be just fine.
Unless you got fully mappable managment (ie not the standard 1.7 turbo shite) you cant do much anyhow.

What benefits has a OHC engine got? Technically its safer to rev due to no pushrods to bend, but that isnt an issue with the engine so barring 300cc more, there no real advantage.

Its no co-incidence all the fastest ones are still using the C1J lump!
