I set some records today I reckon!!!!!
I broke not 1 but 2 cars this year
And had not 1, nor 2 but 3 tow trucks to get me home
The Cossie needed 2 just for itself (the first driver has run out of hours so we had to swap trucks!
The day started well with my Cossie, my bro's Pug Mi16 and my own Pug Mi16 all making the run up to ND - car's in the garage:
After 4 sessions of 400+ bhp my Cossie gearbox died a death - I had no 4th gear to start with, but by the end had no gears at all. Exactly the same symptoms as Ford Fair
So I jumped in my track support car - the Pug Mi16 (Bought only as I know how poo my luck is with the Cossie, and because it's been so reliable all year when the Cossie has been dead) , and did 1.5 sessions before spinning the shells and buggering the bottom end completely. Surprised me as it was going well and has been really strong on track even with my car breaking driving style.
I called the RAC for the Pug and Boncaster's company for the Cossie, and both trucks were there within the hour, and arrived at the same time - VERY IMPRESSED this time.
Cossie is now home, and work will commence to swap engine and box on the Pug and a Gearbox on the Cossie.
Sorry to anyone else who was waiting for a tow truck - I had them all!
